Firefighters from across Washington County are still monitoring a wildfire that broke out on the crest of David Hill Wednesday, July 14, near Forest Grove.
Dray conditions and high winds are making the blaze, which broke out Wednesday afternoon, difficult to predict, said Forest Grove Fire & Rescue Lt. Tad Buckingham.
"We still have crews out there today, it’s still going." Buckingham said. "We plan on having a night crew as well."
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the flames fed on slash from what appeared to firefighters as a recent timber cut.
Firefighters don't believe that timber crews were working in the area at the time of the fire or that the cut would have contributed to the fire.
