ADVERTISEMENTS
This is an important time in our history. Decisions we make now will determine whether Forest Grove builds on our rich heritage, strong town center and distinctive neighborhoods or whether growth pressures from outside the city move us toward a more suburban community.
It is inevitable that Forest Grove will grow. How the city grows is up to our community and your participation in efforts such as updating the city’s comprehensive land use plan.
You’re invited to attend a series of community open house meetings during August and September to review information related to how Forest Grove has grown and how it may grow in the future.
The open houses will be held on Aug. 4, Aug. 18 and Sept. 1. The open houses were originally scheduled for the Community Auditorium but will instead be held at the Wednesday Forest Grove Farmers’ Market to encourage greater community participation.
Please visit us at our booth on Main Street on these dates, from 4 - 8 p.m. and let us know your thoughts about how Forest Grove should grow in the future.
There will be information in the News-Times on each Wednesday that we host an open house about the topic for that day. So please look over the material and drop by our booth at the Farmers’ Market to chat. We want to hear from you.
The Aug. 4 open house will focus on the environment. Issues and questions about the environment are provided below to help the discussion.
